Mother’s Day isn’t an easy holiday for many due to difficult familial relationships, infertility, mental illness, or numerous other issues, but I am blessed to have a mother who has supported and stood by me throughout the years. I also have friends and family members who love being moms and go out of their ways to be their for their children by setting boundaries and expectations while also holding their babies up emotionally when the world gets tough. Then there are the pet moms, foster moms, and women who provide love and support to people who are family by choice (I don’t mean adoptive parents here because in my mind adopting a child versus giving birth to a biological child are two different ways of choosing to become a parent; this is more friends you care for, etc 🙂 ).
Love and thanks to all of you!
I have thoughts to share on Captain America: Civil War and Free Comic Book Day 2016, but ran out of time today to write them all up (my mom’s birthday was the day before Mother’s Day this year, so today was her day times a million!).
Moms, enjoy today, and if you have a female caretaker in your life you feel affection for, let her know. Yes, it’s a Hallmark holiday, but it’s never a bad time to tell someone you appreciate her.
